Our Dutch conversation courses help you improve your Dutch speaking skills. The focus is on speaking, fluency, pronunciation, and building confidence in real-life conversations. In these fun and interactive courses you’ll practise a lot in small groups and learn in a relaxed and motivating environment.

Our Dutch conversation courses are all about speaking Dutch with confidence. In every lesson, you discuss different topics guided by a native Dutch teacher. You practise real-life conversations, improve your fluency, and expand your vocabulary.

The focus is on speaking as much as possible in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. You’ll learn in small groups, so everyone gets plenty of time to talk. These courses are perfect if you already know some Dutch and want to speak it more naturally.

Upcoming Dutch conversation courses

We offer two types of conversation courses, one for the lower levels (from A2 up to B1 level) and one for the higher levels (from B1+ level). The lessons are given once per week (2 hours per lesson). The courses take 6 weeks.

You can choose to take the conversation courses online or at our location in Amsterdam.

Schedule a free level test to determine your current Dutch level. Afterwards we can give you advice about the possible courses.
Are you a complete beginner? For the conversation courses you will need at least the A2 level. So in that case you can check our Dutch beginners course instead.

What’s the difference between a general Dutch course and a Dutch conversation course?

Our general Dutch courses focus on all language skills, so speaking, listening, reading and writing. While our Dutch conversation courses mainly focus on improving your fluency and confidence when speaking.
If you want to build a solid grammar foundation or in case you want to improve your Dutch in general, a general course is the best start. However, if you already know the basics (A2 level or higher) and want to practise speaking more, the conversation course is ideal.

How do I know which Dutch level is right for me?

You can book a free level test with us. One of our teachers will assess your current level and recommend the course that fits you best.
This way, you’ll always join a group that matches your abilities and goals.

How many students are in each group?

Our groups are small and personal, with a maximum of 8 students per class. This allows our teachers to give you plenty of attention and ensures that everyone gets to speak and participate actively.

Where do the Dutch group courses take place?

We offer our Dutch group courses at our location in Amsterdam and also online.

We have two locations in Amsterdam: one at the Rietwijkerstraat 10 and one at the Frederik Hendrikplantsoen 98. Dutch group courses are given at the location at Frederik Hendrikplantsoen 98. But both locations are close to the city center, easily accessible by public transport.

Our online lessons are held live via Zoom with the same interactive style.

Can I take the course online instead of in Amsterdam?

Absolutely!
You can choose between in-person or online courses. The online lessons are just as interactive as the classes at our school. So with live teachers and small groups as well.

But unfortunately it’s not possible to combine both. Therefore, you have to choose to take the lessons either at our location or online.

How long does a Dutch conversation course last?

The conversation courses take 6 weeks with one lesson per week of 2 hours each. So the conversation courses have a total of 12 hours.

Do I need to buy a book or learning materials?

No, for the conversation courses no books are used. Lessons are very interactive and focus on the speaking aspect only.

What happens after I complete the course?

After finishing your course, you’ll receive a certificate of participation (if you participated in at least 75% of the lessons) and you can continue with the next level (for example, from A1 to A2).
Our teachers can advise you on the best follow-up course to keep improving your Dutch.

Are the teachers native speakers?

Yes!
All our Dutch teachers are native speakers with extensive experience teaching Dutch to internationals.
They make the lessons engaging, personal, and practical. Above all focusing on real-life communication and a relaxed classroom atmosphere.

Can I join if I’ve already studied some Dutch before?

Of course.
If you already know some Dutch, simply book a free level test.
We’ll determine your current level and place you in the right group, so you can continue learning from where you left off.

Can I get a student visa when I sign up for a course at Language Corner?

In The Netherlands you can only obtain a student visa if you are enrolled at a university or college. So unfortunately it’s not possible to get a student visa based on a language course at Language Corner.

If you only need a tourist visa, we can send you visa supporting documents. This contains a booking confirmation and invitation letter. We charge a non-refundable fee of € 25,00 for this service. Furthermore, you need to pay for the enrolment and the visa supporting documents upfront.

Can I use a DUO loan to pay for the language courses at Language Corner?

Unfortunately this is not possible. Our courses are not specifically focusing on the “inburgering”. Therefore, you cannot use your DUO loan for our courses.

Can I pay in multiple instalments for the Dutch courses?

In some cases this is possible. So please contact our staff to ask for the possibilities.

Can the invoice be sent to my employer or company?

Yes, this is possible. After registering, please contact our team so that we have all the necessary details to send the invoice to your employer or company.
