Pilar

Docente Spaans

Hi! My name is Pilar and I’m from a town near Madrid. Thanks to my father and his library full of horror novels, I decided to graduate in English, where I discovered the joys of language acquisition. Eventually though, I found my way to Spanish and have been teaching it for more than 10 years.

I’ve always been interested in languages and the way each one offers a different way of seeing and understanding the world. I think learning a language is not only about words and grammar, it’s also about culture.

In my classes, I like to focus on communication and helping students feel confident expressing themselves. Of course, I think grammar is important (and I actually really, really like it), but for me, the main goal is always being able to get your point across and have a real conversation.
