Hoi! Mijn naam is Coen.

Having been a language student myself while studying Arabic Language and Literature at university, I know that learning a completely new language can be daunting at times! I also studied, lived, and worked in Cairo for over two years, where I experienced firsthand how much of a difference better language skills can make in everyday life.

In the classroom, I value openness and hope that everyone feels comfortable speaking up and asking questions. Beyond simply applying grammatical rules, I think it’s important (and fun!) to develop an understanding of the peculiar features of Dutch (such as its word order). And, of course, the most important thing is being able to use what you’ve learned outside the classroom right away!

My favorite topic in Dutch is scheidbare werkwoorden (separable verbs), so hopefully maken we snel kennis!
